A native of Huntsville, Alabama, Dr. Rice received her B.S. in Biology from David Lipscomb University, and then went on to complete her dental degree from the University of Alabama in Birmingham. She and her husband, Jeff, moved to Franklin in 1986, where she opened her dental practice in the Cool Springs area.
Dr. Rice believes in a warm and personal approach to her patient’s dental concerns, built on the foundation of first listening to her patient’s concerns about their mouth, and then diagnosing the individual need of each patient. Of course, she believes that preventive care (including regular exams and cleanings) are a vital part of one’s overall health.
Dr. Rice is a proud member of the American Dental Association and its state and local chapters, and has received numerous ACE awards for post graduate continuing education beyond their annual requirements. She is also a member of the Academy of General Dentistry, the American Academy of Sleep Medicine and a student at the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies where she learns the latest techniques and technology to deliver the best possible dental care. She has attended extensive coursework at the Kois Center for Excellence in Dentistry in Seattle, and has completed courses and continuums at the Dawson Center in St. Petersburg. She is both a certified Lumineer and Durathin trained clinician, and believes in a very individual approach to cosmetic dentistry for her patients.
Dr. Rice is a board member for Morning Star Sanctuary, a haven for those who suffer from the effects of domestic violence and is currently serving as the Board President. She is also active on the board for the newly formed Franklin Suzuki Academy, enriching the lives of young string musicians in Williamson County, and a member of the Middle Tennessee Suzuki Association.
Dr. Rice and her husband, Jeff, have three children, Haley, Hunter and Hope. They are members of the Otter Creek Church. For fun Dr. Rice enjoys playing the drums, piano, and violin, and has a special place in her heart for local theaters she has been involved in with her family, Pull-Tight Players in Franklin and the Town Centre Theatre in Brentwood.

Dr. Patel grew up in San Jose, California where his father worked as an engineer with General Electric. He studied Exercise Biology at the University of California-Davis here he earned his undergraduate degree. He then studied at the Kornberg School of Dentistry at Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where he focused his studies on general dentistry and gained knowledge of restorative and cosmetic procedures. His studies also included clear aligner orthodontics, endodontics and oral surgery. He received is Doctor of Dental Medicine in 2014.
After practicing in the Philadelphia area, Dr. Patel moved to the middle Tennessee area in 2015. In
practice Dr. Patel has expanded his experience in endodontics, oral surgery and dental sleep medicine and is a valued asset to our practice. His chairside manner and professional care for our patients has made him a popular addition.
In 2015 Dr. Patel married his wife, Shital who is currently a Pediatric Neurology Resident Physician at Vanderbilt’s Monroe Carrol, Jr Children’s Hospital. The Patels live in the edgewood/Houston area of Nashville and enjoy searching for the latest and greatest additions to Nashville’s vegetarian cuisine options.
After a brief time away, Dr. Laura Williams has rejoined our staff at Cool Springs Laser Dentistry. Dr. Williams established herself as a caring and gentle professional with our patients since joining our staff in 2015.
Dr. Williams grew up in Marshfield, Wisconsin with her older sister Roseann. Her father is retired from his custom window manufacturing business and her mother continues to work in the administration of the Marshfield Hospital where she started as a nurse and has served as a Vice President for several years. After graduating from Marshfield High School, Dr. Williams studied Biology at St. Norbert College in De Pere, Wisconsin where she graduated Summa Cum Laude in 2005.
Dr. Williams moved to Cleveland, Ohio and studied Dentistry at Case Western Reserve University. While there so also completed a General Practice Residency at St. Vincent’s Charity Medical Center and St. Luke’s Medical Center. This gave her the opportunity to expand her experience with dental specialties like endodontics, oral surgery, and periodontics. While working with specialists to serve the patients at these hospitals, Dr. Williams was able to deliver dental care in a way to help patients understand the connection between oral health and their overall health.
Dr. Williams has been awarded several commendations and scholarships for her work in both Biology and Dentistry. She has also worked in the communities of Salon and Kent, Ohio and Maryville, Tennessee before settling here in middle Tennessee.
Dr. Williams is married to Dr. Jon Williams, an Oral Surgeon practicing here in Franklin and has a daughter who celebrates her first birthday in October 2017. She and her husband live in Franklin and enjoy the small town feel of our community.
